Audio Post Production In Toronto

Audio post-production covers many aspects of sound design, including mixing, ADR solutions, and dialogue editing. It also encompasses other aspects of sound that can depend on the project at hand. Almost every commercial media piece with sound goes through audio post-production and often takes the most time to complete.

What Happens During Post Production

Once the recording process is complete, the next step is post-production. This process can mean editing dialogue, ADR (automated dialogue replacement), adding sound effects, audio restoration, music editing, mixing, and mastering. The environment and equipment used during recording can contribute to the complexity of the post-production process.

Post Production Mixing And Mastering

Mixing and mastering are the final steps in the post-production process. Movies, TV shows, and songs all require mixing when putting together the final product.

Mixing involves combining all the sounds from the dialogue, vocals, instrumentals, foley, ADR, and sound effects tracks. Mixing is about balancing the different volumes of tracks (gain) and also the different frequencies of tracks (EQ).

Sometimes the mix sounds pretty good on your listening device, maybe an iPhone, but the same mix will sound totally different on your car stereo. This is where you need to have a mastering engineer master your mix. Mastering is a whole art in itself, and we can help you with that too. Mastering engineers use specialized equipment and strategies to make your mix sound consistent across multiple playback systems.

We have years of experience and several professional mixing and mastering suites for every step of the post-production process.
